Sporting Times
Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Sporting Times collects when you use the site and what we do with it. The short version: you can use every part of the site without an account, and we collect as little as we can.
Information you give us
If you send a message through our contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address, rotated monthly, to stop spam and abuse. We do not use these details for marketing and we do not sell them.
Information stored on your device
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
- Security cookie. The contact form sets a short-lived cookie that protects it against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal information.
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Server logs
Like every website, our servers record technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used only to keep the service secure and working, and are deleted on a rolling basis.
Third parties
Match data is supplied by a sports data provider; your browser does not connect to it directly. Crests and player photos are cached and served from our own domain. Links to other websites, including partner sites, are governed by their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete any message you have sent us. Write to the address on the contact page and we will act on your request within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the bottom of this page.
